[KDP] Giveaway

Post by Phoenix » Fri Aug 03, 2018 10:26 pm

I am currently running a giveaway for my novel, Daintree Denizens, if anyone is interested. Only available from the US store, though. Aussies can't buy from the US store. Giveaway is running for five days only.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077WFF51R

Only had good reports from readers so far, despite its strong Australian vernacular. Not exemplary editing, but the most I could afford. Cover by our very own Lipmag (aka Michelle).

Of course, congratulations and best wishes on the book!

A heads up . . . KDP has a policy at least for Kindle editions, I do not know about paper editions, that if there are complaints about typos, editing, etc., it will make the Amazon page with a warning that the book is not good. I do not remember the exact wording. You can then get a list of errors and if you correct them, they will remove the warning. Sometimes they take it upon themselves to review books, so even with no complaints a book could have a warning. I heard from the representative of Jackie Collins books, British English brought down just such a warning for one or more of her books. Because of the author, Kindle backed down.

Again, best wishes!
Walton

I picked up your book Josef, thank you. I have not begun reading it yet, and have not been reading much this summer. It might be winter before I get around to starting it - fall is coming quickly and we've got to get going on firewood splitting and preparing everything for winter before much longer. Summers are short here in Fairbanks, Alaska.

That's great Dan'l. I remember a post of yours maybe a year or more ago on CS where you asked if people could post about their freebies because you were living a fairly thrifty lifestyle. I hope you enjoy it. Don't worry about when you can get to read it or even if you do. I wasn't fishing for compliments or reviews. Do look after your self and yes, gear up for that very cold winter of yours. Are you still with your Japanese partner?

Yes, Joe, my Japanese husband and I are still living together very happily and enjoying life here in the Alaskan paradise. It's been a pretty good summer, but there have been lots of minor medical "alerts" for me at 70 years young. Those have made life a bit stressful at times, but everything seems to be sorted out now and life continues as normal. My husband has been MOST supportive during the whole mess. He now has his own business "Kazuya's Baked Delights" and we have been attending events where we can sell. We don't have a storefront, so sales are strictly limited to events and special orders. We are not getting rich, that's for certain, but he is having fun and I am having fun being supportive of him.

Thanks for asking Joe.
