[Cover wrong] Who to contact?

Post by David Wake » Tue Dec 05, 2017 3:44 am

I've just published a new book: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Punk-Publishin ... the+bridge and https://www.amazon.com/Punk-Publishing- ... the+bridge and they've used the wrong cover. Disturbingly from a different account and ironicallly from my co-auhored 'how to self-publish' book.

It's fine on my Createspace dashboard.

It's a contact Amazon, isn't it? But I can't find the best contact details.

I'd contact Amazon through Author Central. They usually respond fairly quickly.

I did find the right contact eventually and it was through Author Central. They responded quickly, then requested a copy of the proper cover and said it would be 305 days before it filtered through the system It was a matter of hours.

The problem was because this was the first time I'd bought an ISBN. I bought two off a friend and we got into a pickle when the second book leap frogged the first. He didn't realise (or I gave him the wrong data), so the wrong cover got assigned by Neilson's. He fixed it (but I think Amazon's fix was faster).

The embarressing irony is that the cover was a book on how to self-publish. We learn.

Dave, so glad you got it all straightened out. They really are good at fixing our oops.

Your last line made my day. That's too funny.
