[facebook] How to use for promotion

Post by Ozed » Wed Oct 18, 2017 4:37 am

I have a Facebook account which I rarely use largely because at my age I have a large extended family. Unfortunately most of the under 50 year olds are, to put it kindly, lacking in gravitas. As a result they like and share the most appalling stuff and the language would have disgraced a navvy in my youth.
FB does not allow two accounts but I would like to use the platform for my "author" persona, completely separate from all the friends on my account.
I have read that I can create a page but I am not convinced that it would be complely separate. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Cheers. Ed

The page must be tied to a personal account, so you'd be shown as a Team Member of the page. But none of the content carries over from one to the other. If you'd like to see an example, here's my Author page: https://www.facebook.com/SEHolroyd.

Thanks for the suggestions both. All I need now is to overcome my aversion to Facebook. I liked your page, Sarah, will keep an eye on it.

I'm not sure that you have to list yourself as a team member. I have several pages, for my job, in my personal FB account, and I'm not listed as a team member, nor are the volunteers who work on the pages. FB keeps nagging me to "add myself to the team."
