Post by R. C. » Sat Jul 22, 2017 11:37 am

Has anyone used the co-op program at http://www.authorservices.patchwork-pre ... ley-co-op/? I'm looking for feedback on it as a possible service to reach netgally a little cheaper on my latest release.

I haven't used a co-op, but I had a subscription with NetGalley for 2 years. Not sure if you saw my reply on that other forum. Anything longer than a month isn't going to get more exposure. After 2-3 weeks the book becomes invisible due to the constant release of new titles, and requests will dry up. Also, watch out for the trolls. Check out books similar to yours on NetGalley and see the types of reviews they get.

I used to think it was a low-effort way to get lots of reviews and build a contact list, but it's actually been quite hard work to get quality reviews, and I think it's actually easier and more cost effective to approach reviewers directly.
