Re: [SPAM] Strategy . . . Comments Wanted

I'd go for deleting them all. As has been pointed out, we're not banning legitimate users, just forcing them to rejoin when they have a question. It's only inactive people who have never done anything, isn't it? As for banning words like 'porn', that would ban that suggestion, this post and anyone w...

Re: [Cover wrong] Who to contact?

I did find the right contact eventually and it was through Author Central. They responded quickly, then requested a copy of the proper cover and said it would be 305 days before it filtered through the system It was a matter of hours. The problem was because this was the first time I'd bought an ISB...

Re: [CS] New book ... bad cover

It is something that bugs me. They adjust a cover, but don't tell you what they've done. So, you can't work out what you did wrong and thus correct it. I'd prefer a 'this failed for X reason, please fix' approach.

Re: [CS] Author passes away

One thing to add to the mix here. You might need to specify what you want to happen with your creations: do you want someone else to carry on the series? Do you want to specify that if the screen rights are sold, a certain scene must be included? Such-and-such a character must never use violence, go...

Re: [CS, Kindle merger] More proof

I got caught by Prime. Took out a free membership, forgot about it and then six months later a sudden unexplained bill.

Re: [CS] Author passes away

Wow, David, you sure know how to throw a wet blanket over things, don't you? Sheesh! It wasn't my intention. I'm as bad as anyone. I know there's something I need to change in my Will, but I've been putting it off as if, somehow, karma, will protect me until that's done:- "Yes, Death," says the Gua...

Re: [CS] Author passes away

I'm coming up to a big one: I can retire!!! However, I need to sell a lot more books before that technicality can be enacted upon. And at the risk of being more of a downer, passwords, etc, ought to be held somewhere else as well. Your spouse may have it, but if both of you are travelling together...

Re: [CS] Author passes away

We should all add things to our wills to cover this, including passwords, I wonder. Or, like Kafka, demand it's all burnt.
