Re: [CS ordering] New year

Yeah, I have to make the move eventually to IS, but I have been with CS for so long that I hate to make the move. I don't buy my own ISBNs and I did not like the IS set-up system at all the last time I was there. I have only commissioned the one cover so far, all my others were done on the CS cover ...

Re: [CS ordering] New year

No one actually answered my question, so I went ahead and ordered my books, 20 of each of my newly published books on 8th of Jan 2018. Usually, within a few days of ordering I am notified of them being shipped and then have the long wait. As at today, I have received nothing from CS other than an or...

Re: [INTRODUCTION] Greetings from the crow's nest

From one Phoenix to another, welcome to the sometimes spam free self publishing forum. We do our best to keep the pages clear of filth and garbage. I also began to do something with my writing in my fifties, mainly as a way to take my mind of giving up drinking. I am now into my third novel, and thi...

Re: [COVERS] Advice on options

Hi David,
One of the moderators on this forum; Michelle, created my last book cover for me which I was very pleased with.

Re: [CREATESPACE] Help with colour book pricing

Hello and welcome to the forum. I had the same problem/decision to make when I began writing my woodcarving journal. Wood Whisperer: My Woodcarving Journey. A full colour print book costs 4 x the B & W version. A 200+ page book would have been ridiculously expensive and no one would have bought it. ...

Re: [GR Giveaways] Increase sales

Bummer, sorry to hear about it Kay. All better now I hope? I only just managed to get my giveaway in before the January change took place. Can't see too many people willing to pay to give books away, doesn't make much sense. Bad enough giving away books that we have laboured on for so long. As I sai...

I gave you that info about GR charging money in the new year for a giveaway back on Dec 25th? You should have done something back then.

Re: [2018 Predictions] Mark Coker's Predictions for 2018 (CEO of Smashwords).

I guess much of what he says has the ring of truth to it. It also has the taste of sour grapes to it. What I know for a fact, is that Smashwords did nothing for my ebooks, which is why I swapped over to KDP and the select program which has shown fairly regular sales and KU reads. I don't like the fa...

[CS ordering] New year

Can anyone tell me when CS opens again so I can make sure my order comes from the CS printers in the US rather than a holiday contractor? I have heard too many tales of horror about the 'other' companies when CS shuts down for the hols to want to risk my order going to one of them.
