[Off Topic] Anyone heard from?

Sorry to go way off topic here guys but I am concerned for an American friend of mine who resides in Florida. I haven't heard from him in some time and wondered if anyone here had heard any news from Temple Williams? My thoughts extend to all those affected by the horrible destruction wrought by Irm...

Re: [BIZ] Business versus Hobby

:) Ha, ha, well said Dan'l. I didn't say that I was a decrepit old man, just not young anymore. I meant simply that my aspirations are no longer as lofty as they were in the day. My days of chasing skirt are long gone thanks to a wonderful second wife. I hope I am as full of piss and vinegar as your...

Re: [CS] CreateSpace - Barcodes

Michelle, at $90 - $120/annum to join SPN, for a small time writer like me who might release one or two books a year, it doesn't seem worthwhile. I am already spending far more than I making on my books. I can understand the value for someone like yourself with a stable of writers producing many boo...

Re: [CS] CreateSpace - Barcodes

I have to believe that most everything CS does (or not), at present is all aimed at moving authors to KDP for their print editions. I really doubt there will be much to like about CS as this progresses to its ultimate conclusion. We might even have a possible indicator for when the transition will t...

[CreateSpace] Mods

It would seem that CS does not appreciate the way we have been talking on their forum lately and SPF is scaring them. RC made a post asking where the mods were when all the spam is so rife. I eventually added to the discussion indicating that the only method of forcing their hand to act was through ...

Re: [CreateSpace] Interior Reviewer

I would be more inclined to go by the downloadable pdf proof they make available. That said, I have never found the images or other, to be anything but crystal-clear on the internal reviewer.

Re: [BIZ] Business versus Hobby

Thank-you Michelle. I don't think any of my books are ever destined to be more than mementos for me and my family with the odd one or two sold by me, or on-line. I do not envisage going to, or representing myself at conventions or otherwise to market by books. I can see how the same cover appearing ...

Re: [Business versus Hobby]

Thank-you Walton, that is a very encouraging reply. I would post a pic of my intended cover in here, only I have no idea how to go about that.

[BIZ] Business versus Hobby

Before I ask my question I will provide a bit of background... I am a fifty-six year old Australian male who has been writing in one form or another all his life, but never as a professional. I have reached that time in my life when I want to write those stories that I have always had in me but neve...

Re: [spam] how to deal

I may be wrong, but it seems to me that we are not dealing with bots where all the spam is concerned. I believe some very cheap labour is involved that can circumvent the capcha process. Like the click farms I hear so much about, I believe humans are responsible for all the spam that we see invading...
