Re: [CREATESPACE] Margin Error upon Submission of Interior

If any image bleeds, the entire interior block must be 0.125" wider than your selected trim size and 0.25" taller than your selected trim. No text or other "live elements" can be any closer than 0.375" to the bleed line (0.25" to the trim line on the top, outside, and bottom - the inside minimum mar...

Re: [Problematic Issues/Questions Re CreateSpace]-New Author

With IngramSpark, Does the author just go through and select the type of distribution for her/his work, and then IngramSpark handles it? Or is the author responsible for doing all that set up? The author is responsible for completing all of the fields in the IngramSpark title setup, which includes ...

Re: [CREATESPACE] NEWBIE question re CS and book pictures]

What you're looking for is a "tipped in" section of different paper (glossy) with photos. No, CreateSpace does not do this, nor do any other of the major POD printers. This is something that offset printers can handle, but the POD process is not designed for it. POD prints the entire interior book b...

Re: [FORMATTING] What's your go to program?

Most of us who design books professionally use Adobe InDesign, a desktop publishing application created specifically for designing books, magazines, and other publications. But this is an expensive piece of software, and can be difficult to learn. Many self-publishers do well enough with either MS W...

Re: [Createspace] About to publish questions.

I'm using my own ISBN's from Thorpe-Bowker and I've decided to go with standard distribution only at this stage. Is this the way to go as I wish to publish on other platforms and was told not to go Extended Distribution if I want to go with Ingram-Spark, smashwords etc due to lower royalties. Yes. ...

Re: [KDP FORUM] New!

I like it for those reasons, but it's clunkier to use than the prior iteration was. It'll take some getting used to.

Re: [KDP FORUM] New!

I hate that you can't mark all the threads as read with one button click, like you could with the prior version. Annoying.

Re: [CREATESPACE] Are PDFs considered camera ready?

PDF is the preferred and recommended file format for interior and cover files.

As long as your PDF meets all of their stated printing specifications, it's up to you how it looks. Just be sure any artwork is 300 ppi.

Re: [ISBN and SAN]Oddity and 2 questions

Your original logbook probably contains ISBN-10 numbers, which are now deprecated in favor of the ISBN-13 system (they ran out of numbers so had to make them longer - more digits). If you use the 13-digit version of your remaining numbers, you shouldn't have any problems.
