Re: [FORMATTING] Serif PagePlusX5 CREATESPACE

Thanks Walton that is all really helpful info. I have followed the download links on your post and have to say I am extremely impressed and pleased with the free guides you have produced. I am in the process of reading them through and will set myself this task before I proceed further. It's obvious...

Re: [FORMATTING] Serif PagePlusX5 CREATESPACE

Thanks Sarah and Dan'l. Sarah my trim size is the same as my other two books - 5.5" x 8.5". My other two books were largely without images. For some reason I don't understand, this time using Open Office when I insert the images at exactly those dimensions I have to make them wider than I should bec...

Re: [FORMATTING] Serif PagePlusX5 CREATESPACE

Thanks Sarah. I have been struggling on with Open Office and think I may stick with it; I've worked out how to put text over images which will print Okay and that was my main problem - when you do it in paint the text comes out all blurry on the pdf. So now I am back to the problem of image quality....

Hi Walton and all I'm about to embark on my third paperback for Createspace. Thanks for your help with the last one. This book is an image based book and Open Office can't cope with the graphic design I need. I am going to produce one copy in color and one in black and white. Money is a problem so I...

Re: [FORMATTING] odt to mobi

It seems that Amazon replaces the cover with the one you have uploaded unless you change the preferences and Enable the sharing of book content option when you are doing the mobi conversion. Phew!! I have a feeling I am now in touching distance of the finishing line. I am personally amazed at how ma...

Re: [FORMATTING] odt to mobi

So I hope I am now on the home stretch!! I have completed the book in Sigil as it should be and even included a very simple style sheet to set margins I borrowed from a blog! But KDP won't accept Sigil's epub. So I am back at Calibre converting my epub to a .mobi. Problem: how do I get rid of the au...

Re: [FORMATTING] odt to mobi

Okay you might be able to help me out! My task for tomorrow is to do as you suggest and use Sigil. This is the instruction I have been given by that good web page I was using: "After trying calibre extensively, you can have a try to convert html to epub sigil. All you have to do is just throw your h...

Re: [FORMATTING] odt to mobi

Hi Walton thank you for being there and being so helpful. The message says; General error. General input/output error. I googled it and the reply on how to solve it was something about having to re-confirm your user profile or something in OO. All sounded pretty difficult to me so I thought I'd try ...
