Re: [AMAZON ORDER] Has Amazon ever given you such poor service?

It's nothing to do with IS or CS -- Amazon put caps on customer orders, probably to stop people trying to game the system and reach bestseller status.

I'm not sure why the order has been split or why it's taking so long. You'll have to ask Amazon that question.

Re: [SPARK] update manufacturing notes?

Have you viewed the digital proof? There is a box for notes when you approve the proof for production. You can hold off enabling distribution until after you see a print copy.

Re: [Smashwords] What happened?

I still pop in from time to time, but there's not much action here lately. Also, I've been travelling -- to WorldCon in Helsinki, then spent a few weeks travelling around Europe. Now I'm back in Australia and have four writers festivals and conventions to attend for the remainder of the year. It's b...

Re: [CS] CreateSpace - Barcodes

Joe, you should think about joining SPN. You'll never pay another set-up or revision fee at IS ever again. And if I end up doing your covers, you won't have to worry about the "tougher" submission process.

Re: [ARCS] Netgalley options

I haven't used a co-op, but I had a subscription with NetGalley for 2 years. Not sure if you saw my reply on that other forum. Anything longer than a month isn't going to get more exposure. After 2-3 weeks the book becomes invisible due to the constant release of new titles, and requests will dry up...

Re: [spam] how to deal

What about two-step validation, where after initial registration the user has to confirm via email that it's a valid account? That, along with the captcha, should help reduce the problem. Also their first post should be automatically moderated. There is a function in Wordpress that allows this for b...

[KINDLE] Scammers broke the Kindle store this weekend

https://davidgaughran.wordpress.com/2017/07/15/scammers-break-the-kindle-store/ More evidence of Amazon's failure to moderate, not just in their forums but the users of their services. It seems too easy to exploit. I for one am happy to promote non-Amazon services. This is their opportunity to rise ...

Re: [INGRAMSPARK] Any Small Press Network (Australia) members here?

SPN? No, it's exclusively an Australian industry organisation.

Or the free setup? If you're a member of IBPA or other industry organisation, they have deals with IngramSpark. I'm not a member, so not sure what perks they get.
