Re: [INGRAM] Strange production error

I haven't yet, and I'm not sure that I should since the books were ordered from Amazon. Some were sold and I can return the rest to Amazon. I wouldn't ordinarily buy retail for an author event, because we need the trade discount, but PenguinRandomHouse specialty sales would not even return my phone ...

[INGRAM] Strange production error

We sponsored an author event yesterday and ordered three of the author's 11 books to sell. One was issued by a publisher that is now owned by PenguinRandomHouse. The title is 20 years old and still in print, but apparently there is little or no inventory. Our order was fulfilled by Ingram POD. The b...

[PRINTING] distressed fonts over color

MyFonts had a special offer today on True North Textures, a set of fonts of which some are designed to look distressed--sort of like old signs where bits of the paint have flaked off--while others have cross-hatching or other textures. I expect that all of them would print satisfactorily on a white ...

Re: [facebook] How to use for promotion

I'm not sure that you have to list yourself as a team member. I have several pages, for my job, in my personal FB account, and I'm not listed as a team member, nor are the volunteers who work on the pages. FB keeps nagging me to "add myself to the team."

Are there many sales through the e-store? I've never had one.

Re: [SPARK] update manufacturing notes?

Support says that IngramSpark does not do reverse binding. From online chat: i have been speaking with a senior colleague and they have informed me that reversed binding is not available through IngramSpark I explained that the book is set up for normal workflow (same as I would do with CS or Thomso...

Michelle, than you for the reply.

There is no digital proof to approve. Nothing appears under "Titles Pending Your Approval."

Re: [AMAZON ORDER] Has Amazon ever given you such poor service?

I saw your post in the CS forum but I don't have a relevant experience to report. I have noticed that Amazon often misses the target for Prime delivery of manufactured-on-demand products, including movie DVDs, but usually only by a day. I tried ordering one of your hardcover editions and the estimat...

Re: [nostalgia] Phototypesetting

Does it sound likely that a tiny newspaper chain would have owned a letterpress? Circa 1980 I was working on a college magazine that was produced by pasting up phototype. It was printed in the shop of a three-issues-per-week local newspaper; the magazine was in tabloid format but using better paper...

[SPARK] update manufacturing notes?

I have a pending upload to Spark of a book that has right-to-left pagination, so the spine should be on the right. Thus, the cover file has the front cover on the left and the back cover on the right. Spark customer support emailed me to ask if the title was supposed to have reverse binding, saying ...
